“Attention is the beginning of devotion.” (Mary Oliver)
I am Kia Yee or kyatos, a slow dream machine (慢梦机) building a loving world.
In this realm, I am a Singapore-based transdisciplinary poet and performance-maker. I work primarily with text and movement, though sometimes I tend to my affinity with inanimate objects. I often speak and move within the spaces of desire, speculation, futurity and ecology, with undercurrents of love and deep time.
I live and make things to demonstrate that other worlds and ways of being are possible. To this process, I play with and trouble the bounds of categories and disciplines. I do my best to resist illusory urgency, distraction and noise, in favour of ease and (re)generative attention.
In my more human form, I lead Feelers, an artist-run label within Potato Productions. I am sometimes engaged as an editor, arts writer, organizer and producer.*
Dear friend, I shall love. I hope you will too.
